This is the painting I did for the ‘Sport’ album cover.
My intention was always for it to be used as the cover art. I already had it in mind when I started painting it that I wanted to incorporate the x-rays I have of my teeth, which is why I left so much of the black in at the bottom to make it easier to photoshop together. Also the canvas is pretty big (a lot bigger than it looks in the photos) so the painting itself is quite rough because I knew it was going to be made a lot smaller and touched up digitally. For this reason I’m not that keen on it as a stand alone painting, but the cover art itself came together really well I think.
